Artists Against the Bomb opens Friday, October 16, 2026.
We caught up with London-based artist William Cobbing at the tail end of his two-week Utah journey, where he filmed the two-channel video work Inner Horizon for his first U.S. solo exhibition commissioned by UMOCA.
Cobbing’s work transforms Utah’s basin and range landscapes into spaces of reflection, using sculptural clay headpieces to merge perception with terrain. From mirrored surfaces to cave-like eyeholes, his masks turn observation into dialogue—inviting us to witness the land not as a stage, but as a collaborator.
William Cobbing: Inner Horizon is on view at UMOCA through January 3, 2026.
