We show contemporary art, or the art of our time.
Contemporary art is art made in the past 5-6 decades. It can be made with any medium, including painting, sculpture, photography, video, ceramic, multimedia, and so much more. Contemporary artists present images and ideas that relate to the world we live in today.
Not quite. Modern art denotes a particular period and style of artmaking that occurred between the late 19th century and the mid to late 20th century. Some notable modern artists include Vincent van Gogh, Pablo Picasso, Wassily Kandisky, and Marcel Duchamp. These artists would not be considered contemporary. Contemporary art is more recent and ongoing—the art of our time.
