Artists Against the Bomb opens Friday, October 16, 2026.

Salt Lake City, UT — Monday, July 14, 2025— The Utah Museum of Contemporary Art (UMOCA) is honored to be named one of 51 visual arts organizations across the United States and Puerto Rico to receive funding in the Spring 2025 grant cycle from The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts. UMOCA will receive $100,000 in support for exhibition programming over the next two years.
This grant cycle distributes a total of $4.3 million to support artists’ changing needs and to empower organizations to provide platforms for experimentation and creative growth. The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts grant program is especially critical in the current climate of reductions in federal arts funding and new regulatory requirements for cultural production.

“The Spring 2025 grant cycle occurs amidst reductions in federal funding for the arts and humanities and new requirements for cultural production to align with executive orders and the administration’s priorities,” said Joel Wachs, president of The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts. “We have observed – and applaud – arts organizations across the country continuing to fulfill their missions, focusing on promoting artists’ expressions. We remain dedicated to supporting organizations that amplify the voices of artists, contributing to their individual wellbeing and to the overall health of our society.”
Laura Allred Hurtado, Executive Director of UMOCA, expressed her appreciation for the Foundation’s support: “We are deeply honored to receive this generous grant from The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts. At UMOCA, we strive to create spaces where bold, diverse artistic voices are celebrated and where our community can engage meaningfully with contemporary art. This funding will allow us to expand our programming and continue our commitment to nurturing artistic innovation and dialogue in Utah and beyond.”
UMOCA looks forward to leveraging this grant to develop and present ambitious exhibitions that challenge and inspire audiences while supporting artists at various stages of their careers.
