Grants and corporate sponsorships provide general operating and project support for UMOCA’s programming, which reaches over 60,000 people each year through robust exhibitions, community events, and state-wide education programs.
UMOCA is deeply grateful for this support and thoughtfully partners with each of our institutional funders to find the right giving opportunity for their goals. If you are interested in learning more about grant or corporate support, please contact:

In addition to making a General Donation, Becoming a Member, or Joining Contemporary Circles, here are several other ways you can make a difference. Thank you!
A gift of appreciated securities like stocks, bonds, and mutual funds is a flexible way to support the art you love. When you transfer securities to UMOCA, you receive a charitable deduction for the full market value and incur no capital gains taxes (depending on IRS deductible limitations), effectively reducing the cost of making your gift. Please be sure to consult with your legal, tax, or financial advisors before donating.
If you are 70½ or older you can make a gift directly from your IRA to a qualifying public charity like UMOCA. This giving option is also known as a qualified charitable distribution (QCD). Beginning the year you turn 73, your gift can satisfy all or part of your required minimum distribution (RMD). Please note donor benefits that may be accepted with a gift through your IRA are those that do not have value for tax purposes. This means that Membership and Contemporary Circles benefits of value must be waived if you give through an IRA. Incidental donor benefits will remain for your enjoyment.
Simply ask your IRA administrator about making a direct transfer or have them send a check from your account to UMOCA. Kindly contact us at donors@utahmoca.org when you make your gift as some IRA administrators do not provide the donor’s name and we’d love to say thank you.

A donor-advised fund (DAF) functions like a charitable savings account that gives you the flexibility to recommend how much and how often money is granted to UMOCA. You will qualify for a federal income tax charitable deduction at the time you contribute to the DAF account. Please note donor benefits that may be accepted with a gift through your DAF are those that do not have value for tax purposes. This means that Membership and Contemporary Circles benefits of value must be waived if you give through a DAF. Incidental donor benefits will remain for your enjoyment. Kindly contact us at donors@utahmoca.org when you make your gift as some DAF administrators do not provide the donor’s name and we’d love to say thank you.
Many companies offer a matching gift program to encourage philanthropy among their employees. Some companies even match donations made by spouses or retirees. Please check to see if your employer will match your donation to double or even triple the impact of your gift. For your reference:

UMOCA appreciates in-kind gifts that align with our mission and support core programs and special projects. These gifts of goods and services may include art supplies, office equipment, professional services, gift cards, and more. Before accepting, the gift is reviewed to see if it meets UMOCA’s needs. We reserve the right to politely decline any gift that does not further our goals or may require special maintenance. If you are interested in making an in-kind gift, please contact donors@utahmoca.org.
By leaving a planned gift in your will or listing UMOCA as a beneficiary, you can communicate your values and dreams for the future while meeting your financial goals today. No matter the donation size, your legacy of support will bring the beauty and power of contemporary art to our Utah community for generations to come.
Please contact Stephanie Ogden, Director of Development, for more information about incorporating UMOCA into your estate plan and the donor benefits you will receive.
