Oct 2, 2018 – Nov 1, 2018
Originally conceived for Taylor Mac’s A 24-Decade History of Popular Music, a marathon performance art concert that tells the history of America through the perspectives of those whose stories are often forgotten, dismissed or buried, this exhibition features costumes representing the years 1776-1806. Conceptualist-as-artist Machine Dazzle reimagines rebellions, revolutions, triumphs, and tragedies through these intricate and elaborate pieces, more akin to wearable sculpture than traditional theatrical costumes.
Machine Dazzle’s exhibition, Sacred Objects: Act 1 will feature costumes from the years 1776-1806 from Taylor Mac’s A 24-Decade of Popular Music. This exhibition coincides with Taylor Mac’s A 24-Decade History of Popular Music (Abridged) at Kingsbury Hall on November 2nd, presented by Utah Presents.
Supported by ZAP and Utah Presents.
