Lenka Konopasek, Undergrowth (detail), 2018, 42h x 36w x 6d in., paper construction, paint
Lenka Konopasek’s work is an exploration into themes of natural and human-made disasters. The work raising questions about climate change and longevity of our planet as a consequence of human behavior.
Konopasek draws attention to the beauty of violence by breaking down and rebuilding structures that mimic organic materials and naturally occurring formations; creating scenes occupied by objects with complex prickly textures bristling with tension that exist somewhere between alluring and dangerous.
Supported by ZAP and Andy Warhol Foundation for the Arts.
