JP Orquiz: A Stack of Forms

Oct 12, 2018 – Dec 15, 2018

JP Orquiz explores the anxiety that surrounds the immigration process and how it affects the lives of applicants and their families. The work looks at the daunting amount of forms and documents that are involved in the process of obtaining legal residence in the U.S. filtered through the lens of Orquiz’s experience. Some of the text on the forms has been altered to convey the artist’s anxieties and fears about the state of immigration and citizenship.
