Join UMOCA for an evening celebrating the opening of four new exhibitions: Eleanor Mahin Thorp: Snowtrickle, feldspar, dirt; Alexis Rausch: Rapture | Rupture; Rick Silva: Dirt Nap; and Alfredo Jaar: The End. Artist Eleanor Mahin Thorp will give an in-gallery artist talk at 7 pm.
We’ll also be hosting a special Workshop Walk-In activity in the Giving Mangos Ed Space. Inspired by Altered States in the Acid West, visitors can create their own custom bolo tie using an assortment of unexpected materials and found objects. The last bolo tie workshop was so popular that we ran out of materials, so we’re bringing it back for opening night—with plenty of supplies on hand to help make your bolo tie dreams a reality.
