Stargazing with NASA Ambassador Jared Krüger

Aug 9, 2025 8–9:30 PM

Hubble Ultra Deep Field 2014, Astronomers using NASA's Hubble Space Telescope have assembled a comprehensive picture of the evolving universe – among the most colorful deep space images ever captured by the 24-year-old telescope. Researchers say the image, in new study called the Ultraviolet Coverage of the Hubble Ultra Deep Field, provides the missing link in star formation. Join UMOCA and Epicenter under the night skies outside the John Wesley Powell River History Museum for a free evening of stargazing guided by NASA Ambassador Jared Krüger. This public event offers a rare opportunity to experience the wonders of the cosmos in one of the darkest night skies in the country.

The event is part of Fieldworks: Green River—a collaborative workshop presented by the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art. This program invites artists into the resourceful, interconnected fabric of rural Utah, encouraging deep engagement with landscape, found materials, and the rhythms of place. Alongside stargazing, participating artists will gather, reflect, and create work that will be exhibited in Green River and later at UMOCA.
