Artists Against the Bomb opens Friday, October 16, 2026.
Nov 13, 2025 7–9 PM
Join us for an evening of comprovised and experimental music inspired by UMOCA’s exhibition Something from Everything, which explores transformation, material play, and the creative potential of reimagined forms. Translating these ideas into sound, the featured musicians use unconventional techniques, objects, and improvisation to reshape the familiar into something entirely new.
Composer and guitarist Chaz Prymek performs a comprovised piece for prepared acoustic guitars. Using discarded and everyday objects, Prymek transforms his instrument into a site of sonic experimentation—questioning, as the artists in Something from Everything do, how ordinary materials can be reinvented to reveal new possibilities.
An improvised set featuring Taku Ishikawa (percussion), Josiah Boornazian (saxophone), Georgi Petrov (guitar), and Sam Schultz (bass). Together, they construct a shifting soundscape that merges ambient, folk, and jazz sensibilities—an open exploration of form, texture, and collaboration.
Presented in partnership with Yardworks Presents.
