Time Capsule “Recuerdo”: Mixed Media Hand Casting Workshop

Join us Saturday, August 17, from 1-4 pm for Time Capsule “Recuerdo”: Mixed Media Hand Casting Workshop! At August’s Family Art Saturday event we’ll work closely with Inez Garcia, a local glass and mixed media artist, as she walks you through the mold-making process. In this workshop, you will create a plaster mold of your hand and incorporate a “recuerdo,” or an object that contains a memory from the past. At the end of the class, you will walk away with your own “recuerdo” sculpture encapsulating your memory. Please bring a small object to encapsulate in plaster, no larger than a gold dollar in all directions. All materials used are non-toxic and child-friendly. You are encouraged to wear clothing suitable for painting.
