An ensemble of local musicians performs an original “acid western” score inside the gallery, building a live sonic environment around video work by Moses Williams.
Featuring Melissa Chilinski, Andy Cvar, Taku Ishikawa, Ian Camp, Chaz Prymek, and M. Horton Smith, the performance blends guitars, organs, banjo, pedal steel, bass, percussion, and projected video. Drawing from the visual and sonic language of the American West, the score takes cues from Morricone, Langhorne, Neil Young, and Jodorowsky—shifting between sparse, cinematic passages and dense, improvisational stretches.

Presented in conjunction with Altered States in the Acid West, this performance takes place in UMOCA’s Main Gallery.
