Alexis Rausch is an interdisciplinary artist based in Davis County, Utah. Her work addresses how perceptions of safety and violence influence our personal and collective memory, while also determining which people, objects, and events are preserved in the digital age. Themes of ritual, dark humor, religious martyrdom, and the uncanny are frequently used in her work. Although trained as a painter, Rausch frequently uses fiber and silicon to create tactile elements in her pieces.
Rausch also works to preserve and document outsider art sites, and has been a contributing archivist with the SPACES Archives and the Kohler Foundation. She has exhibited her own work nationally and internationally, and is currently acting as curator and designer for the global commemorative fiber art project, Stitch Their Names Together. She has a BFA from the University of Utah.
